Kingwood Showbiz Cinema is Undergoing a Renovation

The Kingwood Showbiz Cinema is undergoing an extensive renovation project. Recently purchased from Starplex, it was the chain’s first location in Houston. The chain now has three other Houston-area locations. The renovation is scheduled to be completed in three phases. Phase I includes closing the theatre’s eight screens and installing luxury recliner seating and a mini-table for patrons. Phase II will see the renovation of the remaining seven screens.

It will also remodel its lobby, which will feature a new full bar and self-serve concessions area. Officials hope to have the new seating installed by the holiday season, and to complete the new lobby by early 2020.

Updated hours

The Showbiz Cinemas in Kingwood and Fall Creek in Humble are back for the summer season to provide family entertainment. The Kingwood location is located at 350 Northpark Drive. It also shows UFC matches on a monthly basis. The next match is set for Saturday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m.

New concessions area

The expanded theaters will have state-of-the-art technology, including SDX screens and immersive sound. The new theaters will also have expanded concessions areas with self-serve kiosks and a full cafe/bar. The theaters will also feature a full line of Starbucks beverages and offer a full menu of frozen cocktails and mixed drinks.
